Welcome
North Hall is an intercollegiate hall of residence for male students, situated in a pleasant part of St Augustine, a few minutes from the main U.W.I. campus and well-connected by public transport to the Mt Hope Medical School and other institutions of higher education in Trinidad.
North Hall supports your pursuit of academic excellence and all-round development, within a community of university students, teachers and researchers.
At the residence, social and cultural life is much enhanced by interactions with undergraduates and post-graduates, from home and overseas, who are studying a variety of subjects in different institutions.
The North Hall experience is built on the pillars of scholarship, interaction and values. The residence staff promote a family atmosphere while overseeing the living and learning environment.
North Hall provides good study conditions, and first-year students can avail themselves of the experience and guidance of older students and graduates. The facilities offer a peaceful and quiet atmosphere helpful for study, relaxation, and at the same time offer a wide range of social, sporting and cultural activities.
The atmosphere in the house relies upon the responsibility and respect for the personal freedom of each resident. An applicant is offered a place on the understanding that he will, by his positive outlook, seek to maintain the high standards and family tone which have always marked North Hall.
Applications are open to people from any religious background or faith community, and we are proud of the diversity that this brings to the residence environment.
Spiritual activities at North Hall are entrusted to Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church.
